About the Department
The Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at Rani Dhanya Kumari College was established in 1995 to offer students an opportunity to explore the strategic, geopolitical, and security aspects of defence as an academic discipline. The department has consistently focused on equipping students with knowledge about national security, military strategies, and international relations, fostering an understanding of defence mechanisms and policies at both national and global levels.

Moniruddin, who holds the position of SACT-I and has been with the institution since September 9, 2008 till August 2024. He is also the Ex. ANO (NCC) under whom many of the NCC Cadets from the college had participated in Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. Under his leadership cadets were taken to different NCC camps, were they excelled in different competitions for e.g. TSC camp where one of the cadet came in second position in snap shooting in India.

Department of Defence and Strategic Studies provides various platforms for the students to excel in their academics. Department has unique feature of Smart class system where students are provided with visual knowledge regarding their subjects. The general library of the college provides various books related to our department which helps students in many ways. In addition to the college General library, , where students have regular attendance of borrowing books which adds flavour to their knowledge.
It also provides basic amenities like computers and printers which engages the students in department related activities. The college has a general lab where our students utilise to do academic activities which strength their morale to succeed in their academics. More over the platform provided to the students helps in accumulation of knowledge and for the welfare of the students.
